-Its original colour is an apple green over a black primer.

RUSTIC PINE CHEST; circa 1850
-Craftsman piece used for storage (blanket chest).
-Square nails; hand-planed wood; the sides are assembled with irregular dovetail joints.
-The cover-lid is assembled as a door: mortise-and-tenon joints, holding a raised panel.
-The original apple green colour is completely worn on top. Residues of yellow, red and blue paints are found elsewhere.
-Provenance : Sainte-Rose, Île Jésus (Québec)

-Bedroom hope chest with delicate proportions.
-Forged nails; finely planed quarter-sawn wood; the sides are assembled with dovetail joints at 45 degrees.
-Original colour: dark blue green.

PINE CHEST WITH POST-STILES, IN THE LOUIS XIII MANNER; CIRCA 1750-1800
-Cabinet made piece designed to store clothing (blanket chest).
-Forged nails; hand-planed quarter-sawn wood; mortise-and-tenon joints and pegs.
-The extremities of the legs are chamfered.
-The sole colour left, a greyish green is completely worn on the front, and partly on its cover lid. It was obviously used as a bench for two for a long period.
-Provenance : found in the Eastern-Townships, typical of Québec district.
